Ombre Brows

Ombré Shading

What Is Ombré Shading?

Ombré shading is a semi-permanent eyebrow styling technique that uses a small machine to place extremely thin dots of pigment into the skin, creating a soft-shaded brow pencil look.

Benefits of Ombré Brows

  • Ideal option for oily or sensitive skin, unlike microblading
  • Require less touch-up appointments
  • Gives the appearance of fuller, defined brows

Ombré brows are all skin types friendly and worthwhile investment. "I meet a lot of women who have a very hard time filling in their brows or clients with little to no brow hair at all. Having this service saves time in the morning, money, and is a helpful guide when filling them in. You can also personalize the density, meaning how light or how dark you would like the brows to be."

PRE CARE

This treatment is not recommended for any of the following clients:

  • Pregnant
  • Viral Infections (diseases)
  • Sick with cold or flu-like virus
  • Used Accutane in the past year
  • Epilepsy
  • Undergoing Chemotherapy (Consult with your doctor and provide a doctor's note)
  • Is on blood thinners
  • Keratosis (growth of Keratin on the skin)
  • Broken capillaries
  • Is prone to keloid scarring
  • Has skin irritations or Psoriasis near the treatment area (rashes, sunburn, acne, etc)

2 weeks before your treatment Avoid the following:

  • Botox and fillers
  • Fruit or milk acid peels
  • Laser treatments
  • Chemical peel
  • Exposure to strong sunlight such as tanning or burning the face

24 hours before your procedure avoid the following:

  • Alcohol
  • Drugs
  • Aspirin/Ibuprofen. This contributes to thinning the blood and may affect the anesthetics efficiency.

On the day of your appointment for brows:

  • Avoid a high quantity of caffeine
  • Avoid alcohol
  • Avoid exercise after treatment.
  • Wash your hair in the morning as you will need to avoid the shower after treatment for the first day of healing.
  • You may be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.
  • Do not wear good clothes or white for the procedure incase of any pigment splatter. Every pre caution is taken to prevent this but accidents can happen. Dress comfy.

Service Recommendations:
When scheduling an appointment date for a permanent makeup procedure, you will need 14 days for the treated area to completely heal. It is recommended to have two to three days of down time directly after the procedure. Please keep in mind when booking not make any social plans directly after appointment. If you are planning a hot holiday or vacation, please be aware that your permanent makeup needs to heal before jetting off on your holiday. Please plan your application appointment at least 2 weeks before your holiday. Also to make sure that you wear SPF on your treatment area during your vacation because the sun does cause permanent makeup to fade faster. When you return, please wait at least 2 weeks for your skin to accustom to our climate again before having a brow shading application.

Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your treatment time to complete a waiver form and go over the aftercare card. Late arrivals can lead to your treatment being postponed to avoid upsetting other clients who may be waiting for their appointments after yours. Please allow the required time for each service. This is not something that can be rushed. If you prefer a certain makeup color for your brows, please bring your makeup to provide a better understanding of what your looking for.

POST CARE

Please avoid the following after treatment for the next 10 to 14 days:

  • Scented soaps and lotions
  • Saunas
  • Hot yoga
  • Sleeping on your stomach or side (if treatment area is sore)
  • Facial Massage
  • SPF (until fully healed)
  • Coconut Oil
  • Petroleum or Vaseline
  • Heavy sweating at the gym (sweat formed on treatment area can fade your healing colour)
  • Tanning
  • Makeup on brow area until fully healed
  • Picking a scabs if any appear
  • Swimming (pool chemicals can erode healing colour)
  • Outdoor activities such as gardening or golf can be resumed as long as treatment area remains clean, dry and out of the sun
  • There will be a little scabbing. Please do not itch the procedure area or pull any scabs away.

Permanent makeup will appear extremely intense and thick immediately after the procedure. The colour will appear darker for the first few days. You may experience some swelling and minor bruising.  As swelling goes down the lines will become thinner. Colours will continue to soften and stabilize over the next few weeks. The true colour can take up to 4 weeks from initial treatment to come through. It will look very natural once healed.

A list of instructions and aftercare ointment/cream will be given the day of the appointment. Following the proper aftercare after the treatment is of great importance. During the healing process, the colour may seem to disappear as it is obscured by the healing skin. Flaking, crusting and itching may also occur as the skin starts the natural healing process. Picking or peeling any flakes can cause loss of implanted pigment and scarring. Refrain from touching the treatment area.

To achieve the desired colour, two applications will be needed. Please schedule second appointment approximately 4 to 6 weeks after the initial procedure. Touch up cost is included in the original pricing. Permanent makeup can last for 2 to 3 years depending on colour, individual body chemistry and lifestyle. A colour boost appointment are recommended for those who wish to keep their makeup like enhancements looking as fresh as possible.
